About Me

Currently I am attending I recently graduated the French Culinary Institute in New York City and I currently carry around my knife case with pride and some fear to and from work at a Michelin-star restaurant in New York City.

My name is Elena and I am a cook, writer, and traveler.  I love cooking, eating, using fresh ingredients, and exploring new cultures.  My family has owned a few Spanish restaurants and since I was a young, I could be found behind the bar fixing myself Shirley Temples or munching on Spanish chips. Growing up in a Spanish family has taught me a lot about the importance of food.  We take eating very seriously, and we eat a lot!

My grandmother always told me that a good Spanish woman must know how to cook.  After watching everyone around me cook wonderful meals for years, I finally decided to heed her words.

Eat Drink & Travel documents my relationship with food, as well as the recipes I have grown up with and the ones I encounter while traveling.  I created Eat Drink & Travel as a not so guilty pleasure of my love for food.
